Hesperia

From the deep stretched azure

the sky's blue sapphire skin bleeds

its manic youth of day, rising

from the noon in Moses' crying reeds

then comes the evening's redemption

as the cold brutish march of Caesar

pounds one thousand white chariots

across the white-silvered sardine path

— led by the night's Roman redeemer!

Below the tar-black nebula, Zeus

greets the yellowed marzipan clouds

that took the bee's white honey sun

to smite, flog, strangle and drown.

The dusk of the civilised dawns

from the dark hesperos womb, blood

filling the echelon's of the sky, crying

the golden night's stars across a black cheek

— it knows it warred when it should have loved!
