G. David Schwartz

16.    If you talk nice to people they generally turn out to be nice people.

18.    A girl is stuck in my mind who I only remember with the name I pinned on her, "chicken legs." She was a very good looking girl. She did not look at all like a chicken.

19.    What is a burp? It is a mouth party.

20.    How do you know where a circle starts?

21.    The best advise I have ever received was "Think before you speak." It had the ability to just keep me quiet for a whole evening.

22.    A man went running through the hall yelling, "Super SEX." A woman stopped him and said, "I take the soup."

23.    Accept the headaches as pains of love.

24.    You can say where you should be, but you can only say about others is where they could be.

25.    If you wished everyone luck everyone would wish you the same and then there would be more people wishing you luck than anyone else in the world.

26.    Thank you God for headaches = it shows that I am still alive.

27.    Everybody should be born with a phone.

28.    Being foolish and loving food is not the same think. It would take a very large piece of paper to make sense make sense.

29.    It is diffusely apparatus to sing in the shower of love and truth. But thus are the cleanest waters on tight earth.

30.    God must really love me; he speeds so much time correcting me.

31.    "Accomplished" is just a big word for "done."

32.    The difference before the types of Jews: Reform Jews flared up. Conservative Jews jump up. Orthodox Jews are lifted up.

33.    If someone says, "You can go if you want," you don't have to, you put them in a bind is you say "Oh, you decide," This doesn't mean that wither of you are insensitive. It just means you are polite.

34.    Before you can hate someone you simply can not understand them. Hate, then, is your fault. Misunderstanding is the worse sin in the book but an even greater sin is taking it out of the book and solacing it on the streets of New York and Caliginous and excreting inveterate.

35.    Sometimes I thump wisdom is spelled wrong. Impossible is the correct spelling in some citers,

36.    Amuser exam gives the measurement of a students congesting as well as confession.

37.    She talks when I am trying to read and she is silent when acting the television. I read the Ohio State Book of Frequency and it will save me.

38.    The evidence in support of a Christianity derived from Judaism comes, ironically from the tradition of contention between Jews and the early Church. The church found it incumbent to regaled the certain specters of the people of Israel (recognized the value tugging term 'sector' as establish a relationship coming to a separation, which is how we are speaking historically, theologically, ideologically, etc,) Christians assented their developing (not funky enveloped) perception in disjunction from the Jews who thirty or so years after the event, did not accept the developing --- still developing --- feature of the religion. Hence these Jews were deemed rejected (left behind by God, history, etc.) Else Christianity would have no reason to assume Judaism only to reject Judaism!

39.    All religions teach spirituality the same values. When confronted with evil, ought I to fight error and work to end oppression, or ought I turn the other cheek? These are not the same values!

40.    In the contemporary age, we believe in Boeings engines rather than angels. In today's world we believe in computers as a danceable item, not the infinite mind. So, epistemology, when we hear the word "ecstasy" we hear "emotions," and if we are made to unstained the reference to mysticism, we process "psychological process."

41.    The Bible does not speak to individuals as a monolithic mind. It says believe to believe and those who are warming belief. To those who have not appreciated belief it says "Seek me."

42.    there is that hutch claims to be all embracing, such as pragmatic dialectic, historian materialism, crude Freudianism, and the like. Yet parts of that they embrace are also embraced by other "all embracing" systems. Hence, by their ability to embrace, to fit into all schema, the units of particularize (particular only as units variously embraced) are endowed with a certain ubiquity and "intensities."

43.    Judaism and Christianity — unlike Islamic faiths and oriental religions — show by its ability to become compatible with many and every political and social system, not its mutability but its multiplicity which transcends any patrician totality. Hence Jews can float with communists (and even totalities) but not do so consistently, perpetually, and remain Jews.

44.    Oh lord, I am so tired of calling you without getting a response. Why, I am probably as tired of calling you are you must be of hearing me. This assumes you can hear me calling.

45.    Karate was invented by a Japanese peasant as a form of self-defense and taken over by other Asians and western people as a form of self-deface approached to exercise, and aggressiveness.

Except Buddha who eschewed both aggression and self-defense what is left when the self neither attracts nor recognize attracts as being such.

46.    They think around to fill up boats while I can defend those notes. Often each of them I'd like to roam with send a letter for you to be born as a turret which faces the turtle aimed for Elaine.

47.    Elaine still remembers the panther and the panther still remembers her.

48.    Psalm 137:5 "If I forget, thee, o Jerusalem let my right hand wither away, let my tongue closing to the roof of my mouth. …"

There is a disjunction here. The psalmist is certainly not saying its aright if this happiness to him or she would surely not want the hand to wither nor the tongue to cling. The psalmist is suggesting an eternally smutted thrush to be aboard the serum of truth. An alternative of what? An alternative of the secretary which is naturally implied in the terms of the authors concern. The Psalmist is proposing an alternative to an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. The psalmist is pleasing: take my arm, take my tongue, but Lord. Do not take my memory.

49.    God has that "look" whoosh we, from our underground perspective call a human in his image is an image of the highest; so you should respect every human face.

50.    After a shock of the initial reusing of an aphorism, there is only the dull residue of truth left.

51.    The sign at the Home Improvement shop said, "If the product you buy here does not grow, your money will be refunded, if you keep your receipt.

Even Gilda says, "Does that mean that we can return these decorative stones when we are done with them?

52.    If I make an assertion, I only insist people believe my assertion if I require truer help in some manner. I assert I own a yacht. If people do not believe me, fine. Yet if I need help getting the ship out of the port, I must insist they believe me. If I assert that over that wall is $50,000 of mine, if you do not believe me, I have nothing to lose. It is another issue entirely if I need to convince you to help me get over the wall to regain my money. (And there will be something in it for you too: a pleasant cruise, a share of the loot, etc.)

Hence, it is with belief. It mess little if it were indirect belief. The debate between faith and works, a Christian asserts is large irrelevant. But if the point must be pressed, it seems your help to get me over the wall is all the more valuable when you really don't think I have the monody over there; you accompany me to the dock is all the more meaningful as a form of human relaxations if you really don't believe I have a boat there. So it seems true that works without faith contributes at least some extent more that faith without works. Indeed, perhaps belief will occur once we see the boat, once we get over the wall.

More behavior is necessary — human relationships and proper actions enable Gods will upon the earth, whether it is conceptually done in this manner or is not.

53.    We must not pass condemnation on God because we would be wrong, but we would have no way of punishing violations to ethical insensitive. Rather than condemn Abraham argue.

54.    Festival needs, somewhat unlike civil deeds, cannot be punishable, but this only makes them all the more arguable.

55.    Alternative stances: Atheism: is defined by itself posing the Non-existence of God. Agnosticism: does not so much define its as floats around the question of Gods existence or nonexistence. Non-religion: convening Richard Rubenstein inventor of the need for rituals in the "eclipse of God.," (Buber phrases) and Karl Barth's theology of Christianity as not religion, this stance moves on two feet, as it were, perhaps respecting religion, perhaps using her insights, but refusing to dogmatism itself as does orthodoxy and atheism and refusing to establish itself, as does agnosticism and assimilation.

56.    If you remember only this plan forget what else you read and the book is worth the price if you have only leaped one thing.

57.    It was made on the fifteenths of half in the year zero zero.

58.    If you have to admit something you have been both lying or deceiving everyone about it.

59.    I use to say I did not worship God because he permitted the Holocaust to continue well beyond the legitimate bounds of Jew hatred (a dear friend of mine use to define anti-Semitism as one who hated Jews "more than was necessary.) Underneath this guise of reason, however, lies the fact that services are sheer boredom. The reason is understandable because I do not know the routines and what else. Yet behind that, I was a fevering Zionist (and in a traumatic sense still am) and was told not to look on the bema because God was sitting up there, and if you looked and saw Gods face you died. I was skeptical so I looked, but I didn't see anything. This affected me deeply. None the less, I admired those who enrich themselves on the traditions and feel empowered by the experience. For me, a Talmudic story explains a cerebration rabbi. He sat in the Bet ha Midrash reverently studying when the worshippers can in. He turned his back to them (but not as if against them) and said, "They must do what their things are and I must do mine"

My wife and I frequently have this argument. Note: the argument is of the intellectual sort, not hostel or mean as if they were so completely different.

60.    The Ten Commandments do not intruded on, for example, a Solomon swimming up stream on a hot day.

61.    People act like their behaviorism because it is in the script and an ugly person is unusually mean while a beautiful person is outrageously colorful.

62.    You don't have to be Jewish to get a seat in heaven, but you have to have to be alike to do the Ten Commandments with love for your neighbor.

63.    The summer has wised of itself and it dreams against winter but it does not haste winter but it just prefers doing something itself.

64.    Would you like an appetite if you were going on a journey to the bear land and had a fresh catch of fish in your basket?

65.    To have that one good thought about which subsequent epochs recognize you and summarize your Pascal's wager. Descartes cogito Nietzsche's superman and the like, or to have several rambling heretics thorough about which bewildering and think for themselves. In other words, to become a cipher or an engineer.

66.    It is absurd to watch a television drama and pray to God for a character in this show to tell you how the story will end. Consider this when you understand that quite a bit of human life is fiction.

67.    Live so as to unsure that in the future you have nothing for which to apologize and nothing about which to feel guilt. Insure not only that the decision you make today is right, but are correct.

68.    A problem of being driven by the demon is the life of mind, the life in the hyper-Bolic language instability, of fanciness. If left to itself it could bring one intellectual criticism.

69.    A problem of begun driven by the demon: it is the life of mind, the life of super hyper-bolic language intensively, of manliness if left to itself child bring one to intellectual criticism. Hence, it is necessary to key on the "most-real." Not food — that is a matter of definition (dog, rabbit, eels, etc.) Not survivors — too abstract. Sex! Tit size, fornication. Hence, Shabbi Zvi and Jacob Frank, even Sigmund Freud.

70.    Where philosophy enters, there are no self-evident truths.

71.    Why would a person not do philosophy? It is only a scanty consideration, that they are not interested. A person does not do philosophy became they do not perceive an interest. That when prevents the perceptions of interest? Our question "Why not?" is a question about "What presents." Here, then, the answer is clear. Defunct or naivety.

People do not study philosophy in order to learn how to think for themselves because they are wiling (out of laziness, and such things which make time go slow or faster) to let others do their thinking for them. Default is, however, not as terrible as naivety, which be believes that all rumination as opposed to technique and technology and theology (in that order) if finessed. No- the insight professes the outlook; the creative idea precedes the application to only people who, on some level, do philosophy.

72.    "I have a splendid imagination."

"Oh do you?"

"Yes. I can make up anything."

"Go ahead, try me. Tell me something to invent."

"Okay, how about a …"

"There!"

The inventor in the phases above was a trickster.

73.    Does this mean God in only strangeness, only oddness? Does God mean the delirium of not being at home anywhere? No. God is the very condition of at-hominess. At hominess is a journey, a part which is reconciled with strangeness. God is not only the condition of at hominess, but the means of at- hominess — the way is through other people, ones family and friends and associates but also the appropriate disassociated unfriendly not familiar stringers.

74.    What is most needed is least likeliness. There is simply no money or fame in being "plain, honest, and straight forward."

75.    Given the failure of various covenants creation was frustrated in Adams disobedience and Cain's murder. Noah's cabinet was frustrated in — Ham's error, Noah's drunkenness and the Tower of Babel. Sinai frustrated in the Golden Calf, etc.

The narrowing of the covenants creation concerned with Adam and Eve as well as all of humanity. Noah was the age of remnant of a few people and then the Israelites of a people. Then priests, Kings and prophets concerned and conquered all of a class of people.

Individuality was indeed implicit in the class designations "This is the word of the Lord to Micah," etc.

76.    Nevertheless, there is a distinct distance between the Jews and alkl other beliefs. He is more remote than others who contend with God, like Abraham, Moses, Simon ben Yohai, or the Hasidic master as. (But not so far as other apostates, both so far as thhose who remain nameless and these whose names are very famous.). While it is understandable why apostates are not remembered — they deny the God of Israel — this places a question why these who contend with God are held is such renown. Elisa's example teaches: it cannit be "us" against "them". As most it may be "us" against "God" as it says, "If only."
