Javad Shamaqdari, a cultural advisor to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently lambasted the film "The 300."

"American cultural officials thought they could get mental satisfaction by plundering Iran's historic past and insulting this civilization," he said.

"Following the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Hollywood and cultural authorities in the US initiated studies to figure out how to attack Iranian culture.

"Certainly, the recent movie is a product of such studies."

I love the term "Cultural officials." This whole speech is reminiscent of the cowardly and terrified ministers in Solzenitzen's The First Circle. Only a regime that employs thought control and censors the arts could imagine American "Cultural Officials" urging Hollywood to defend the MOTHERLAND, with a gay porno.
