Meeting Al Sim
« on: February 20, 2006, 04:05:55 PM »

At a recent launching of Press 53, a new publishing firm from Winston-Salem, NC, I was pleased to meet Al Sim whose work currently resides in PL vaults and whose book, "Stories in the Old Style," was also launched with two grand readings in Winston-Salem's Borders Books and in The Quail Ridge Bookstore in Raleigh. Also Launched was Doug Frelke's book, "Whiskey Nipple," publisher Kevin Watson's book, "You Can't Meet Jesus Wearing Sneakers," and my collection of short stories, "Epic Cures." We had a slam-bang weekend in NC and partied at the finish at co-publisher Sheryl Monk's home. I have found some grand new friends and am heartily pleased to share some PL space with Al Sim from Tuscon, AZ.
Al's story, "La Estupidez de Cosas," and my story, "One Oh for Tillie," from our new books, previously appeared in PL.
