Title: My entry for the Bulwer-Lytton Contest
Post by: Beowulf on February 26, 2006, 11:32:48 AM
Iranian Roulette, a novel

George adored Iranian Roulette, "Russian Roulette is a game for cowards" he was fond of saying to Laura every morning when it was still dark when they stayed at Camp David, "whereas Iranian Roulette, where five chambers of and S&W 44 Magnum
contain lethal bullets and one is empty, has the simple beauty of
swiftly experiencing lasting breathlessness."

This the opening sentence og my novel. TheB-L contest is a contest to choose the worst sentence written in a calendar year for a work of fiction. ;D

this is actually very nice: "has the simple beauty of
swiftly experiencing lasting breathlessness."

I'm afraid Beowulf is guilty of bad bad writing.
